There is plenty of good imported cheese, from Mexican whites to Spanish Manchego. No reason to complain, really. And it can be delivered to your door:)
Once you "know places", cheese stops being a problem. It's milk that bothers me the most. I use it every morning and every time I either return to the US or get to a new place in the country, I taste some "milk" in my bowl that has no business of having that name.
Sorry to hear that. My family stopped using milk a while ago... just happened. Part of the family is lactose intolerant, and the other part (me) is indifferent and does not mind “almond milk” or other plant-based “milks.”
We also have an almond milk drinker in the family. What surprises me the most about this situation is that a lot of people perceive an artificial, synthetic product with manipulated taste as "natural." :)
Not really.Personally, I've never argued either for or against. But we have a chemist in the family too and it makes it for an interesting dinner discussion about "natural" products.
Actually, there's a store on Castro in M.V. where they sell real raw milk. And there are stores where they sell good cheese. The problem may be that there's hardly any demand. It's like looking for sour cream in Sweden or cottage cheese in France.
Sure, it's possible to find something decent in an entire urban area after living there for more than a couple of decades. And I can somewhat understand the cheese problem, analogous to sour creme in Sweden. But low quality milk everywhere just boggles my mind.
