This looks like a late stage of the cycle, when rent-seeking biz models become more profitable than tech-driven investment.

A broad index of U.S. oil and gas producers has fallen by roughly half since the beginning of 2015, when the U.S. benchmark oil price was about $53 a barrel. The S&P 500 has gained about 45% in that time.

Допустим мы решили доподлинно установить ответ на вопрос: Является ли Дональд Трамп расистом?

Мы собрали самых лучших экспертов по вопросу расизма, они провели глубокое исследование мозга объекта исследования, проследили, как он ведет себя в определенных ситуациях, контролируя всякие переменные, и т.д. и т.п., и после анализа данных пришли к выводу, что он — таки да — расист. Или наоборот - не расист. Неважно.

Что мы будем делать с таким достоверным знанием? И если оно такое полезное и важное, почему общество не организует соответствующую комиссию?

Например, если бы президент коммерческой компании просто ретвитил трамповские высказывания, совет директоров его бы уже давно выгнал с работы. Более того, его бы даже не наняли на работу без всякой научной комиссии. То же самое произошло бы в Армии.

Почему же для бизнеса и Армии вопрос расизма важнее, чем для общества в целом?
