Trump leverages people's weaknesses, being an illegal immigrant is one of them. He always looks for ways to take advantage of people, especially, in a one–shot deal situation where there's no or little recourse.
Я слушал беседу с этим персонажем на BBC-4 по этому самому поводу (кстати, у них довольно интересный алгоритм выбора наблюдателей для раздачи оценок). Там ключевая фраза начиналась так "Я всегда поддерживал и продолжаю поддерживать ...". Ещё был очень трогательный тезис "высказывание, безусловно, расистское; автор высказывания, безусловно, расистом не является, поскольку я его лично знаю".
