Solon's pamphlets were written in poetry, so that it would be easier for illiterate people to remember them. I wonder who and when invented this mnemonic device. Some claim that Gilgamesh and Mahabarata were first, but it's hard to believe that the original protopoem was created in the form of an epic.

В какой-то момент люди уперлись в фундаментальное ограничение мозга и нашли решение в виде ритмической речи. Изобретение системы силлабической письма усилило это решение.
