My chin na technique has gotten much better over the last couple of months. This morning, I almost broke my teacher's wrist when he tried to resist a particular move. Something like this:
That's why I did not like to pair up with new students when practicing aikido. This particular technique (called nikyo, or second control there) is especially unpleasant if overdone, and it's hard for a new person to tell when to stop.
With some experience there is a way to cheat by moving the wrist just a little to avoid the right (painful) configuration, but then you end up misleading your partner.
