Sep. 1st, 2018 03:02 pmWhen reading a book about LCD experiments, I was mostly surprised how many people reported "dropping their ego defense." That experience would typically lead to an internal psychological shock accompanied by a feeling of relief and freeing up of mental resources. The shock was the main reason why a "productive LCD trip" required the presence (and guidance) of a trained psychologist.
Another important thought was that you don't have to take LCD to achieve a similar result. Regular mediation often leads to comparable outcomes. Moreover, sustaining a positive post-LSD experience would be practically impossible without some kind of meditation practice or professional psychological guidance.
In any case, when I read posts&comments, esp. the comments, on social media I'm amazed how much mental effort goes into ego defense, rather than subject matter discussions.
