Trump, the clueless barbarian

timeletsAs one of my friends said a couple of days ago, if South Korea stops making memory chips, the US IT industry, including the Facebooks, the Googles and the Amazons of this world, collapses.
Somewhat not surprisingly, last night Trump managed to piss off our major Asian technology suppliers — Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China — by implying that they are either cheaters or free loaders. The idiot probably didn't realize that such public insults offended the countries' honor and fed public resentment toward the US. The Asian countries belong to the "Shame - Honor" culture that treats such accusations very seriously. If you want to renegotiate a bad trade deal, as Trump claims to desire, you can only make your position weaker by making your existing partner to lose face before the start of negotiations.
