Syria vs Iraq
Mar. 10th, 2016 11:46 amIn retrospect, Obama's decision four years ago to arm Syrian rebels seems quite reckless. At the time, it probably looked good on paper, "Let the people defend themselves against Asad, the dictator", but the administration's actions totally ignored the danger that other players in the region would pile in to support their own favorite stooges too. By contrast, in Iraq the Bush administration at least made sure that Saddam's regime was destroyed completely, for better or worse. Furthermore, it's hard to imagine that Bush's neocons would let ISIS flourish without at least trying to nip them in the bud from the very beginning.
Now, I can understand why Israelis watched the actions of the Obama administration in horror and disgust.
