On a more serious note, the anti-diversity googler argued that

1) sw engineering (or management) is a stressful job;
2) women naturally prefer less stressful jobs;
3) fewer women in sw engineering jobs is the result of their own preferences.

His main proposal was to put women in less stressful jobs away from sw engineering and management, in order to satisfy their natural preferences. [btw, 50 years ago the same arguments were used to discourage women from doctor jobs].

Somehow, the idea of reducing on-the-job stress didn't enter his mind. Moreover, his widely shared opinion increased pressure on female engineers and elevated their level of stress, which, according to his own logic, should've made them even less suitable for sw and management jobs. In short, he did propagate a self-serving gender stereotype that harmed a certain group of employees. Once the memo went viral, the company didn't have much choice = it had to fire him or lose other employees and risk multiple lawsuits.

I feel bad for the guy; he probably meant well.

Here's two categories: Technology and Business

Technology is represented by a product of desires DxD. Desires conflict; therefore, one desire D is a PreOrder, while another is a PreoOrder Op. That is, improving our position on one desire makes another one worse off. Each desire has a terminal object 1, which is the lowest performance threshold, respectively. The thresholds form technical specification 2.

Business is represented by a Utility Monoid, e.g. a combination of Revenues (or expenses). Business has a terminal object 1, which represents profitability requirements, i.e. "the bottom line." The business would like to increase Utility, but it is constrained by the conflict of desires in Technology.

We can probably build adjoints, but I don't know how to specify them.

Another quote:
In an exclusive interview with CNN's Matthew Chance in the Black Sea city of Sochi Thursday, Putin said the U.S. had encouraged Georgia to attack the autonomous region of South Ossetia.

Putin told CNN his defense officials had told him it was done to benefit a presidential candidate -- Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama are competing to succeed George W. Bush -- although he presented no evidence to back it up.

"U.S. citizens were indeed in the area in conflict," Putin said. "They were acting in implementing those orders doing as they were ordered, and the only one who can give such orders is their leader."
