Западному бизнесу живется проще, потому что у них прозрачнее система взаимодействия с государством и четче правила игры, но у нас одна из самых лояльных налоговых систем в мире. Поэтому, пока нам не перекрыли кислород, не ограничили выезд за рубеж, не отменили частную собственность, не ограничили оборот валюты, надо работать.

Похоже, сформировался новый общественный договор: мы вам (бизнесу) не отменяем частную собственность и валюту, а вы нам не мешаете править.

Прошлым месяцем, когда много летал в самолетах, обратил внимание, как по-разному показывают секс в фильмах о/для молодежи и более зрелых людей. При молодежном сексе показывают много тела, особенно женского: поцелуи, движения, изгибы и все такое. При зрелом сексе подробно показывают ужин -- вино, притушенный свет, взгляды, одежду, украшения —- перед сексом и разговоры в постели после; самого секса, практически нет.

Trump, the clueless barbarian

As one of my friends said a couple of days ago, if South Korea stops making memory chips, the US IT industry, including the Facebooks, the Googles and the Amazons of this world, collapses.

Somewhat not surprisingly, last night Trump managed to piss off our major Asian technology suppliers — Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China — by implying that they are either cheaters or free loaders. The idiot probably didn't realize that such public insults offended the countries' honor and fed public resentment toward the US. The Asian countries belong to the "Shame - Honor" culture that treats such accusations very seriously. If you want to renegotiate a bad trade deal, as Trump claims to desire, you can only make your position weaker by making your existing partner to lose face before the start of negotiations.
