Пробежал по литературе, рассматривающей переход Японии от империализма-национализма к демократии. Кое-что вырисовывается, но пока не совсем ясно.

Возможно, ключом к пониманию будет ответ на вопрос: почему американская оккупация Германии, Японии и Кореи привела к демократии, а оккупация Ирака и Афганистана нет?

Как и с малайским Боингом, вранье, что с водой и воздухом в Киевской области все нормально, просто чуть-чуть оттягивает время, пока выяснится правда об аварии. "Работа такая". В Вашингтоне его, наверное, знают, как облупленного. Если Чуркин открывает рот - значит будет врать.
