timeletsIt's difficult to predict the future of AI, but one thing is guaranteed to happen: we'll have ethical conflicts related to the technology, alignment being probably the easiest one to see on the horizon. What gives me a pause is that people responsible for AI development those who are likely to have a strong influence on AI evolution placed their political bets on Trump, who is one of the least ethical persons in today's politics. Will those people make ethical choices when the future conflicts arise? I really doubt they'd do it, unless significant social pressure is applied to them.
p.s. by the end of Trump's term we'll hit a white collar job crisis and his administration will be flailing like his previous administration did when the pandemic hit.
