Ну, мы-то с Вами привыкли наблюдать этот феномен в Советском Союзе. Признать факты было дискомфортно, отрицать официальную пропаганду было опасно, а соглашаться с ней означало признать себя, хотя бы в душе, подлецом. Поэтому факты не признавались или перекручивались, зато человек мог считать себя честным и порядочным.

Здесь, конечно, признать реальность не опасно, но определённый уровень дискомфорта с привычным окружением всё-таки будет. "А оно мне надо?.."

Это да. Но в американских условиях, интересно было бы узнать разницу во мнении об улучшении из-за тарифов и площадью засеянной земли. Я пока такие данные не видел.
