It's amazing with how much hope the public greets Putin's even the most minuscule signs of sanity. His mere suggestion to a bunch of armed thugs in SE Ukraine that they should postpone an immediate "independence referendum" called by them at a week's notice is described by BBC as a 180–degree policy turnaround. Clearly, the guy has some kind of ADD, mixed with a strong desire for vengeance against "traitors", including the West. I wonder how the Chinese are going to exploit this psychological weakness in order to get some sweet deals from the Russian government.
