I bet the international aspect of the discussion between candidates will focus on the question, who is going to be tougher on Russia. Most likely, the oil issue is going to be covered extensively too, and Republicans will make a strong case for increasing govt support for the industry. Alan Greenspan recently wrote that because of fracking the US now controls the world's price of oil to a much larger degree than OPEC. I'd be really surprised if the US wouldn't make a concerted effort to hurt Russian economy through increased oil and gas production, export of green energy tech, financial sanctions, and partial deployment of space- and ground-based anti-missile systems.
