Shitheads from shitholes

When I left the USSR it was a shithole country. From what I've heard, the post-USSR Russia looks pretty shitholey too (consider Academician Kadyrov).

Nothing personal, but my former compatriots who don't realize they immigrated into the US from a shithole country are most likely shitheads.

(no subject)

I-P (L-Y) asks a good question about space sci-fi and reality. Need to think about it, although my gut feeling answer would be, "California."

Quote of the Day: the defining characteristic of technology

The third and most fundamental premise is that instructions for working with raw materials are inherently different from other economic goods. Once the cost of creating a new set of instructions has been incurred, the instructions can be used over and over again at no additional cost. Developing new and better instructions is equivalent to incurring a fixed cost. This property is taken to be the defining characteristic of technology.
