President Trump said in the Oval Office that he believed Iran was “going to attack first,” as he discussed his reason for striking Iran.

That perspective developed during negotiations with Tehran, he said.

“We were having negotiations with these lunatics,” he said, referring to Iran. “It was my opinion that they were going to attack first.”

Our stable genius believed that when faced with a historic American and Israeli military buildup in the region and after its air defenses were pummeled in the last year's confrontation Iran would attack first. I hope he's lying as usual. The alternative would be he's dumb as a rock.

А вообще это всё, конечно, попахивает говнецом и даёт ватничкам моральное право говорить "Найдите два отличия".

Одно отличие я вижу: иранцы для американцев всё-таки очень далёкий народ, и сколько их там убьют в ходе бомбардировок - тысячу или миллион - житель Арканзаса особой разницы не увидит.

Еще одно отличие в том, что американские потери измеряются единицами, а не сотнями тысяч. И эти единицы выйдут республиканцам боком на выборах, т.е. война будет иметь негативные политические последствия внутри страны. А русские сами себе очень далекий народ — их Путин шлет на убой, и они его за это только сильнее любят.

А так - да, эта война смердит на всю Америку. Даже MTG об этом кричит.
