Fucking Moron (tm) of mythic proportions

In Greek mythology Antaeus drew his strength from his mother, the earth. In American politics, Covfefe draws his BS powers from the the stupidity of his supporters (69%)

And by the way, Boeing submitted the software update to the FAA before the New Year's, but its deployment was delayed by 5 weeks due to the government shutdown caused by the Fucking Moron(tm).

In this particular case Trump makes the FAA professionals look bad. It took them several days and 60 pages of flame on pprune to realize it’s a good idea to ground 737 MAX.

It makes Boeing look even worse. Implementing a software fix for a hardware issue, making this fix depend on a single AOA sensor, not telling the pilots, and not voluntarily grounding the MAX fleet even after the second crash until the president intervened looks like a behavior of a greedy bookkeeper, not aircraft engineer.

Runaway trim caused by MCAS is even worse than Tesla autopilot driving into highway divider, and Trump was right to intervene.

The rumor has it that FAA needed some prodding from above. Even if this rumor is false, Trump did nothing wrong here, and blame is squarely on Boeing. Note that there is still no talk about installing second AOA sensor. Probably too expensive. Software “fix” is all we’re promised.
