Хотя бы потому, что современные продукты принципиально отличаются от кореньев и оленьего мяса, которые наши пещерные предки жрали не мывши рук. Кстати о руках, вилки изобрели сравнительно недавно. Тем не менее, есть с ножом и вилкой детей уже учат, а есть с умом, еще нет. Но будут!

Actually, our ancestors had indeed to learn to eat: they needed to know what is poisonous and what is not. We have division of labor for that. I am pretty happy to let McDonalds and Starbucks provide me with requisite expertise for a small fee.
Can't you understand: there is such a thing called preferences. I hate veggies and love hamburgers. If that means I will not live as long, so be it.

I also know that your taste for hamburgers is acquired because hamburgers don't grow on trees or graze in the fields. Some guy invented them about a hundred years ago to make money off assembly line workers who had short lunch breaks and had to get their cheap calories really fast. Cheeseburgers we invented to double up the cheap calories by taking advantage of the industrial scale production of American yellow cheddar, which was invented to .... and so on and so forth. That was then, and this is now. New lifestyles call for new foods and new recipes.
